Heat Loss Surveys

Please note before any work commences, we need to perform a full heat loss survey on the property as per MCS requirements.

Our heat loss surveyor will need access to every room in the house in order to measure floor areas, window/door sizes, skylights, insulation levels, current radiator sizes and wall fabrics.

This is to make sure the heat pump and heat emitters are sized correctly for the system to run at maximum efficiencies.

You shouldn’t be having a heat pump system installed without having a heat loss report completed by a professional.

Not having a heat loss survey completed, can result in high running costs and potentially cold rooms during winter.

Heat pumps a more than capable of heating your home, providing a full heat loss survey has been completed and the system has be designed correctly.

Here at Ipsum Renewables, we pride ourselves on installing efficient running systems, leaving no stone unturned during the design process.

What are the benefits of Air Source Heat Pumps?

An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) is a highly efficient heating system that can replace traditional Oil, Gas, or LPG heating systems.

Energy Efficiency

ASHPs are known for their high energy efficiency. They work by extracting heat from the outside air, even in cold weather, and transferring it indoors to provide heating. This process requires less energy compared to burning fossil fuels, making ASHPs more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.

Renewable Heating

ASHPs utilise the heat present in the air, which is a renewable energy source. Unlike oil, gas, or LPG, which are finite resources and contribute to carbon emissions when burned, ASHPs offer a sustainable alternative that reduces reliance on fossil fuels and helps combat climate change.

Cost Savings

ASHPs can result in significant cost savings over time. Although the upfront installation costs may be higher, the operational expenses are usually lower due to the reduced energy consumption.

Lower Carbon Footprint

By using renewable energy from the air, ASHPs produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to oil, gas, or LPG systems. Switching to an ASHP helps reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, which contribute to climate change, and improves air quality by eliminating the need for on-site combustion.
